And speaking of word choice, I think the use of 'shooter' or worse 'active shooter' de-personalizes so that it is the weapon that is murdering and the person is the tool instead of the obvious inverse. I told a friend I think the correct word is 'hunter.' We have hunters hunting other humans, and they are doing it for sport. This allows for the full extent of their psychopathy to be realized.
